This is in very poor taste and can be worsened if they have the nerve to park in show spots without paying the entry fee ... The other negative is when they show up at the event without a vehicle and proceed to hand out flyers/brochures for their clubs upcoming event without even the common courtesy of asking the host club if it's alright to do so. Since last month’s club corner was on my view of block voting I thought it was time to talk about another club practice that, thankfully, is not a widespread issue. This occasional practice is when the host club allows its members’ vehicles to be eligible for awards at a club hosted event. Hosting an event of any type should mean all club vehicles can be displayed but are exempt from awards and recognition during the awards presentation ... Read More.

It only comes into play at events that allow the registered participants to vote on registered vehicles using a ballot slip. The use of a ballot slip gives a registered participant the opportunity to select anywhere from 5-20 or more vehicles to be counted in as possible award winners. This would be a great idea if everyone voted on vehicles using their head and not their heart. If you have an event where a club participates, the majority of the time the club will buddy or block vote for everyone in their club no matter what a competing club or individual registered vehicles look like. Spring officially starts on March 20 but I know a lot of the car clubs in the northern states will not see spring type weather until late April or May. My sympathy goes out to our frozen gearheads of the north but lets hear a big rebel yell for an early spring in the southern states. Read More.

Muscle Shoals Area Street Rods Annual Rod Run
The men and women that make up the huge club known as the Muscle Shoals Area Street Rods know what it takes to put on a great rod run - teamwork and lots of fun. Both of these ingredients were well in place for their 36th Annual Rod Run held June of 2007 in Alabama. The street rods started rolling into the parking lot of the Sheffield Holiday Inn early on Friday morning and before the day was over the host facilities' lot was a showcase of four-wheel art.
