This detailed 1963 Grand Sport Roadster Replica owned by Dennis and Cindy Manire from near by Titusville, is displayed at the “Old Town” National Corvette Restorers Society “NCRS” Regional Meet in Kissimmee. This Meet draws over a thousand Corvette enthusiasts, many Vendors and the some of the strictest “Numbers Matching” Judging in the hobby. Dennis’s Race Prepared Fuel Injected ZZ3/350 V8 puts out about 375Hp to the rear tires. Frame is light weight Aircraft tubing giving a final vehicle weight of 2300lbs. There were only “FIVE” original Grand Sports built because of Chevrolet’s ban on racing. They were Coupes, but a couple were sent back to the production floor and converted to Roadsters soon after they entered the racing circuit. These GS’s were all business with Heavy Duty Disc Brakes, Air Ducts and Vents for Cooling, Battery located over the right rear tire, Open Side Mounted Exhaust and additional gauges for monitoring during competition. This Candy Apple replica built by D & D Enterprises of Akron, Ohio, in 1992, mirrors the concept of racing and engineering of the nintys. Recent asking price for an original Grand Sport Race Car was $6800000.
