28th Annual Spring Break Nationals - The World's Most Famous Sound Off

If you’re a stereo enthusiast, you probably know all about Daytona’s Annual Spring Break Nationals, held at the beautiful Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.  Mobile electronics enthusiasts come from around the country to reacquaint with old friends, participate in the several different sound competitions, and enjoy a weekend jam-packed with fun.  Judges from IASCA (the International Auto Sound Challenge Association), MECA (Mobile Electronics Competition Association) and dB Drags attracted competitors who were eager to demonstrate their electronic creativity.  Manufacturer booths displayed the newest accessories and provided professional advice to update your current system or create a new one. Competition of a different sort occurred both Saturday and Sunday with the Papa John’s Pizza Eating contest and Sloppy Joe Slider Eating contest where winners not only got a free lunch, but also took home prizes. Of course, there is always the fan favorite, the famous Spring Break Nationals Bikini Competition where a dozen of the prettiest gals were looking for a share of the thousand-dollar prize. Saturday night was the SPL (Sound Pressure Level) Demo with some of the loudest vehicles on the planet demonstrating their capabilities.  It got quieter later that evening with the Neon NiteGlow competition shedding multicolored, soft light outside the Ocean Center Plaza.

Of course, one of the highlights of the event is the weekend car show inside and outside the Ocean Center.  Late model cars were loaded with stereo components carefully positioned to take best advantage of every square inch.  The equally exciting collection of great big trucks had lots more room and their elaborate stereo systems were overflowing from the cab to the bed.  Take a look at some of the top contenders and put this annual event on your 2015 calendar.  For more details, check out www.springbreaknationals.com
