The 7th annual Cruisin for Kids Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show was held on August 15, 2015. The event was held in the parking lot of Joe Neubert Collision Center Knoxville, Tennessee. This annual event purchases clothes, toys & food for underprivileged children for Christmas. 

A total of 145 participated in this years show (in a downpour of rain). Not only local cars, but also vehicles out of Alabama, North Carolina & Georgia. There was a total of 56 awards handed out in 11 categories, plus peoples choice, kids choice, best unfinished & club participation. 

This year provided toys, food & clothes for 3 organizations. The Mission of hope out of Knoxville, Tennessee was provided with $5,345.36 worth of clothes & toys. The Loudon county Family Resource Center out of Lenoir City, Tennessee received $2,350.21 in clothes & toys. This year we also provided The Dept. of Veterans Affairs in Maryville, Tennessee With $278.63 in food for Homebound & homeless veterans. Over the last 7 years we have donated $54,381 to these organizations.

We had 21 volunteers the day of the show. They donate their time and some travel in from Georgia & South Carolina to help. Once again we had over 160 businesses that donated door prizes, auction items, sponsored awards & t-shirts.

A special thanks to the Cattywompas Car Club out of Knoxville, Tennessee for their donation each year. Also to Darren Shifflett for traveling in from Atlanta, Georgia to take our awesome pictures.

I had been hearing about this particular open show held in the mountains of western North Carolina for several years and found the stories about it a little hard to believe. The tales I heard were about a show held basically in the middle of nowhere.
