Carter County Car Club Cruise In

The Carter County Car Club Cruise In takes place every Saturday night starting in April and wraps up the last Saturday in October. The Cruise In runs from 5pm until 9pm and covers about three blocks of Elk Avenue in historic downtown Elizabethton, TN. This cruise in shows what’s possible when car clubs and their host city works together. Just think about having three city blocks barricaded off and enforced by the local police department just for auto enthusiasts to have a safe & secure environment for their event.

This particular Saturday afternoon started off with beautiful East Tennessee weather that helped bring out about 75 cruisers of all years, makes, models and condition. Everyone had the same idea; let’s have some fun sharing their love of cars & trucks with the general public and having time to visit with fellow enthusiasts. Elk Avenue’s old time store fronts form an eclectic mix of shops that run the gamut of antique stores, ice cream parlor, to great eateries like Jiggy Ray’s Pizzeria that is a must try for those that haven’t had their awesome food.

The sun set late and the temperature started to fall so one by one or sometimes a small group of cruisers would crank up their car or truck and head for home. Everyone that had taken part in this great cruise in knew one thing for sure, they didn’t have to wait until May for the cruise in as most cruise ins are monthly, they just had to wait until the next Saturday night.
