Concours d’ Elegance of Texas Car Show

The Concours d’Elegance of Texas celebrated its five year anniversary this year. The event was a great success and rest assure that bigger and better things are going to happen to this prestigious automobile event where some of the finest motorcars in the world are displayed to the public and judged in class competition.

La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa located in Montgomery, Texas has played host to this event all five years and provides the perfect backdrop for all of the beautiful motorcars. The feature marque for this year was Lincoln. Mechanical engineer Henry Leland was the man behind the Lincoln brand. Ironically Leland had worked at Ford early in his career and due to financial troubles was forced to sell Lincoln to the Ford Motor Company in February of 1922. In the 1930’s during the Golden Age of motorcars Lincoln was building beautiful cars like the Zephyr that was powered by a mechanical work of art V-12 engine. Lincoln was right at home alongside other great motorcars like Cadillac, Packard and Pierce-Arrow as the luxury cars of the era. Today after almost 100 years the Lincoln name still represents the finest in luxury automobiles.

The Concours d’Elegance of Texas featured many beautiful Lincoln motorcars also featured were some stunning Woodies of various makes and models. These motorcars are truly unique works of automotive art and it was a wonderful opportunity to see so many of them assembled in one place. An event like the Concours d’Elegance of Texas gives you a very special opportunity to see and learn the history of some of the finest and rare motorcars in the world. Many one off coach built motorcars or low production built cars can only be seen at prestigious automobile shows like this and gives the auto enthusiast a special glimpse into motorcar history.

The show is certainly about the automobile but it is also for the benefit of a group of truly deserving charities like Holy Angels, Crisis Assistance Center and Montgomery County CPS. The Next Gen Education Program uses the automobile to inspire students and show them opportunity and encourage growth. This is not a car program but rather a program used to impact the lives of all students whatever their interest may be.
