Factory Five at Turkey Rod Run

Factory Five at Turkey Rod Run - Article and photos by Dan Wulff

On November 25-28, 2010 Performance Automotive of Florida put together a group of Factory Five kit car owners to show there support for Factory Fives visit to the Turkey Rod Run which is held annually at the Daytona Speedway. Factory Five brought a Mark 4 cobra, a GTM, and their new 1933 coupe, plus a GTM kit purchased by a local Floridian to be delivered to him. Wayne Pressley of Very Cool Parts brought his FFR Cobra roadster the X-terminator with a supercharged engine and twin turbos to show the public. Debbie Littlefield brought her late husband Ralph’s FFR 65 Coupe to try and sell, and in the process it also won the Best of Class Trophy from Factory Five, there was not a dry eye in the crowd after that presentation.

From what I heard on my return trip to the show gathering on Saturday was that the coupe had been sold to some gentleman from the UK. With the great turn out in support for Factory Five, I’m sure that Performance Automotive will be planning an even bigger gathering at next years Turkey Rod Run. There was a large group of roadster owners showing off their cobras and a GTM owners car that was actually more impressive looking than the yellow one that FFR brought down with them especially with the custom Kook all stainless exhaust poking out the back of his ride. If you might be interested in building one of the Factory Five kits this would be the place to ask questions if you are living in or snow birding in Florida next November.
