Bernie O’Neil of Port Orange, Fl owns this sweet little ‘66 Chevy Nova. It’s powered by a ‘66 283 with 350 Turbo trans and a B&M shift kit. The car now features an AM/FM Pioneer CD, Torque Thrust II American wheels with BF Goodrich P225/60R15’s. Bernie recently added a Chevy 12 bolt rear with 3:08 gears for comfortable highway cruising. A 4 bbl Holley 650, chromed Eldebrock manifold, headers that flow into 2.5” Magna Flow exhausts, ps, pb (4 wheels disc), pw and Vintage A/C rounds out the goodies.

We could have tilted this "Barn Find" since after the original owners passed away, the car sat in a barn for 14 years. No one it seemed was too excited about a 6cyl/power glide-radio delete car! It originally came from a dealer in Kentucky. The second owner purchased it with the intention of selling it at the Daytona Turkey Run that takes place every November in Florida.

Enter Bobby Darden, who originally had a buyer lined up from the Virginia area where he runs a restoration shop. Bobby purchased the car to restore at his shop for another customer. That potential customer backed up on the purchase so Bobby, who had it partially disassembled already, just parked it in a corner of his shop where it sat for another few years.

Eventually Bobby finished the car and would bring it every year to the Bel Aire Plaza where most of the true car enthusiasts hang out every Turkey Run. He finished the car in a color called Orange Crush and painted the lower part cream white - all with a metalic base throughout. The interior was completed by Bobby’s wife, including the trunk, door panels and headliner, in a cloth and leather two tone.

Bernie saw the car back at the Bel Aire Plaza not long ago, got Bobby’s number, and two years later was able to close the deal and call it his! “Barn Find“, “Orange Crush” - no matter, this is one fine “66 Nova that looks and sounds as good as it goes!
