Performance Racing Industry 2015 Trade Show

Once again we wandered north to Indianapolis, IN, the Racing Capital of the World, to spend a couple of days at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show. The 2015 edition of the world’s premier event for motorsports professionals saw tens of thousands of attendees from across the United States and more than 70 countries flock to the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis for three days of intense shopping for the latest offerings from more than 1200 manufacturers of racing and high-performance automotive components, as well as precision machining equipment.

The three-day, trade only, event kicked off with its traditional Grand Opening Breakfast before a capacity crowd in the Convention Center’s Sagamore Ballroom. Renowned motorsports journalist and broadcaster Dave Despain of MAVTV hosted the morning program’s live talk show; with 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski as his special guest.

Our first stop, after going to the show floor, was titled “The Evolution of the IndyCar”. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum displayed six cars that were raced in the Indy 500 over past decades, providing a dramatic perspective on the evolution of the IndyCar in design and engineering. The museum also displayed historic IndyCar engines, and the famous Borg-Warner Trophy made an opening day appearance.

While the PRI show is not a car show, there are plenty of cars to see, as many manufacturers display their products on various racing platforms. Stock cars, drag cars, sprint cars, indy cars, modifieds, etc. – no lack of high performance vehicles to garner your attention.

If all of that is not enough, the city of Indianapolis welcomes attendees with great night life, an array of great restaurants and reasonable lodging, all within walking distance of the Indiana Convention Center.

While we are hard at work back at the office, we are looking forward to next year’s trip to enjoy a great and entertaining breakfast, see the latest in performance racing products, mingle with some industry giants, and enjoy a little Indianapolis night life.
