Pigeon Forge Rod Run 34
Description

If you were any type of auto enthusiast the place to be in April 2016 was Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for the 34th Pigeon Forge Run. The focal point of the three day show was the LeConte Event Center where some of the hottest hot rods from across the country where on display along with a huge number of top name automotive vendors.

The beautiful LeConte Center was the perfect venue for the registered participants to display their car or truck indoors or outdoors and the same was true for vendors. The LeConte Center might be the center point of this huge event, but it actually takes over the whole city of Pigeon Forge as thousands of hot rodders come to cruise the strip of the six lanes that run through the city.

There were several big draws inside the Leconte Center starting with a group of vehicles invited to attend by ScottieD TV. This select group of 12 marquis cars and trucks made up what was known as the “Dirty Dozen” and were some of the most premier vehicles in the country at that time.

Another big draw to bring people into the building was all around great car guy and TV personality Dennis Gage. Dennis was in the building for all three days of the show signing autographs and posing with the people for photos.

Three days of high revving fun and action wrapped up Saturday afternoon with the announcement of the Specialty Award winners, Top 25 award winners and the Ultimate Five winners. The events Ultimate Five winners were Ed Hinman with a 1970 Chevelle, John Jinning’s 1957 Ford 300, Steve Jones’s 1970 Nova, Jimmy Underwood 1969 Chevy C10 and Charles Wynn 1969 Camaro. The extra incentive that keeps the people coming back year after year is the cash drawings that conclude the show and this spring event was no different with $10,000 given away during the event!
