Somernites Cruise wraps up 13th season
Description

Over the 13 years that classic car owners have been swarming to Somernites Cruise in Somerset, KY many shows have come and gone. But, this show that started from humble beginnings has continued to grow and grow. Known for its wide variety of classics, customs and muscle cars, Somernites never fails to please even the most veteran of show goers.

Recently wrapping up its 13th season, Somernites closed the year with the September Power Cruise© sponsored by Holley where classic rides cruise to Somernites from multiple cities scattered all across the region. The final show in October featured Tri-Five Chevy’s and traditional Street Rods. Both months were a huge success with well over 1200 awesome hot rods rolling in for each show!

One of the special highlights of a visit to Somernites is the enormous turnout for the Saturday night ‘Cruisin’ the Strip’ festivities. After the Show & Shine concludes at 7pm, huge numbers of hot rods and spectators gather along the main six-lane boulevard that runs thru the heart of town. It’s called US Hwy 27 on the map but, cruisers know it simply as “the strip” and it’s the setting for some amazing scenes!

You’ll see it all here; classics, musclecars, customs and you might even catch the occasional whiff of tire smoke. It’s like a stroll down memory lane. Businesses in the town actually welcome folks to sit and watch the cruising action from their properties. Law enforcement is on duty but, as long as you keep it safe, you’ll have no problem.

Do yourself a favor and check out one of the coolest car events out there.

Somernites Cruise is held on the fourth Friday-Saturday of each month April thru October in historic Somerset, Ky. The event is held rain or shine and averages over 1,100 show cars & trucks in attendance. Admission is FREE for participants and spectators. Entrance gates open at 1pm (EDT). Visit www.somernitescruise.com for complete event info. We’ll look for you out ‘Cruisin’ the Strip!’
