Somernites Cruises thru its 16th Season

The 16th season of cruising fun recently wrapped up at Somernites Cruise in Somerset, KY. Sixteen years after it began, the huge monthly show has grown into a nationally recognized event that attracts thousands of classic show cars and trucks to town from April thru October.

While the event continues to change and adapt to the interests of its participants and spectators, it has always remained true to its roots. The small town atmosphere with welcoming shops and friendly southern hospitality greet car owners and participants from 12-15 states during the monthly Saturday afternoon Show & Shine.
In 2016, several new records for participation were set in the special Showcase Corral areas where fine examples of a specific make or model are highlighted each month. Even though they are only a small part of the monthly event, the Showcase Corrals continue to be very popular and Somernites does welcome all makes and models to attend each show.

Regular monthly attractions include a Vendor Alley for new restoration and performance parts, a sizeable Swap Meet for used parts and even a Kid’s Kruze Zone for the little hotrodders. A good variety of food and drinks ensure your tank never runs on empty while checking out all the rides. Cruise-inspired tunes play throughout the show area to add to the atmosphere.

One of the real highlights of a Somernites Cruise Weekend is the time-honored tradition of ‘cruisin’ the strip’. Late in the afternoon, huge numbers of hot rods and spectators gather along the main drag, a six-lane boulevard that runs thru the heart of town to see all the amazing rides in action.
Hot rods, customs, muscle cars and everything in between can be seen making laps, reving engines and cruising like we all remember from our youth!
Somernites organizers have already started planning for the 2017 season and advise all custom and classic car owners to keep checking the pages of Cruisin’ Style Magazine for all the latest info!
Somernites Cruise is held on the fourth Saturday of each month April thru October in Somerset, KY. The event is held rain or shine. Admission is FREE for participants and spectators. Visit for complete event info.
