The 27th Annual Spring Break Nationals - Non Stop Weekend Fun in Daytona Beach

If you’re a stereo enthusiast, you probably know all about Daytona’s Annual Spring Break Nationals. Mobile electronics enthusiasts from around the country arrive at ‘The World’s Most Famous Soundoff’ to reacquaint with old friends and participate in competition on a half a dozen different levels. Hosted by Paul Papadeaus, President of the Spring Break Nationals Expo Group, the annual event is now in its 27th year and raises the bar for stereophiles. Judges from IASCA (the International Auto Sound Challenge Association) rate sound and installation quality of the competition vehicles, as well as checking SPL (Sound Pressure Levels) to see which vehicle really does the best job of rattling windows! Spectator-entertaining events like db Drag Racing and Bass Racing added to the fun. While the high volume numbers were impressive, most of the vehicles on the display floor were not only capable of producing studio-quality sound, they could just as easily win trophies for style. Add in hourly giveaways, pizza eating contests, Bikini competitions, live entertainment, an awards table piled high with trophies, nighttime neon competition, and a huge collection of stereo-oriented cars and trucks on display and you have a great weekend’s worth of fun. Put this March event on your calendar and check out the website for details on the 2014 event.
