The 36th Annual F-100 Supernationals
Description

In our commitment to bring you the best coverage of events from around the country, we traveled to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for the annual gathering of the F-100 faithful. One of the sports longest-running events is now in its 36th year and attracts cool Ford-powered vehicles from around the country, with obvious emphasis on modified F-100s. This year more than 750 arrived at one of Tennessee’s favorite mountain resort towns for a three-day get-together. The excitement of the event begins on Thursday with show promoter Charlie Cobble welcoming the crowd and unveiling the debuting vehicles. There are always at least half a dozen brand-new vehicles introduced at the event with the crowd applauding and the builders posing for photographers.  Of course the other hundreds of cool classics were also pretty exciting, each with an idea or two that could trigger a modification to yours.  DJ the Iceman kept everyone entertained during the Thursday through Saturday event and the dedicated team from Showoff Promotions professionally judged each of the vehicles at the show.

Enthusiasts could visit the more than 85 vendors inside the elegant LeConte exhibition hall as well as the dozens of swap meet sellers on the display field.  Food vendors inside and out kept everyone well fed.  The closing ceremony Saturday afternoon saw more than 250 trophies awarded to deserving drivers along with numerous specialty awards.  Capturing the Pat Ford Truck of the Year was Paul Valera and his magnificent 1956 Ford F-100.  The former cover-quality truck was given a completely new personality with every inch customized to perfection.  The Overall Points Champion trophy went to Jackie and Dale Dinse for their fine ’40 Ford pickup.  Dale has built more than one hundred custom rides over the years for clients and this is one of his best. The Cruisin’ Style Editor’s choice award went to young Dustin Gregory and his beautiful ’67 Mustang. An ongoing project since 2009, the Fastback is heavily modified inside and out.  If you’d like to see a great collection of trucks and hang out with an equally great collection of drivers, put the 2015 F-100 Supernationals on your list.
