Winter Extravaganza
Description

Now in their 23rd Season, Don’t Miss It! CSM sets up at Sumter’s Swap Meets monthly show on the first Sunday, except July & August – TOO HOT! It’s our favorite Swap Meet where we hook up with old friends and make new ones. The Winter Extravaganza Swap Meet is their monthly show on steroids. Vendors come with a wide range of parts, collectables, shop equipment, project cars etc. I’m sure you’ll see something that you didn’t know you needed but now can’t live without. Here’s a tip – NEVER ask “Will that fit so and so…” A buddy of mine asked a question like that on a set of gears – he wanted olds/pont guy said “YES”, bought them and when he got home and measured them found out they were for “Ford”. I always ask “What does that fit”.  The guy could have made an honest mistake.

I have many old parts that I’ve been carting around from house to house that I’ve forgotten what they are and what they fit. No really, even though I’ve played around with cars all my life I’m at a loss on some of them – I blame it up to “Old Age”. When I take some of them to a swap meet and someone picks one up and asks what is it or how much, I say “$10, if you tell me what it is and what it fits, I may raise the price…”  Hey, it could be the last one in existence… LOL.

Better yet if you’re looking for say – a Holley Carb – download from your computer a list of Holley Carb #’s and check for yourself. Do that for any part or product you’re looking for and it will make your Swap Meet trip a much better experience.

Since you’re not allowed to drive round the swap meet they offer FREE Parts Hauling. Stop someone on a Sumter Golf Cart and they will call one for you. All day the DJ plays music and plays Trivia questions for free gifts. Smart phones are not allowed, you can’t stand there and look up the answers.

Food – there are many vendors to choose from. We’re set up monthly across from the “Soft” Ice Cream Stand – I always get one for the ride home. Another favorite of mine is Strawberry Shortcake from the Strawberry Shortcake lady - only name I know - outside the “G” building where the DJ is. I get my 6AM early morning breakfast from the restaurant in the building behind the Soft Ice Cream stand.
