Wisconsin Fall Auction Offered Many Bargains

Wisconsin Fall Auction Offered Many Bargains

By John Gunnell

Wayne Yoder of Wautoma, Wis., holds collector car auctions each spring and fall. Yoder starts off taking bids on automobilia items. He then moves on to selling cars and trucks (about 70 in this Sept. 20, 2019 auction). He’ll end most sales by offering and array of golf carts, boats, trailers, trollies, pedal cars and additional automobilia.

Each vehicle in the sale has a State of Wisconsin “Buyer’s Guide” in its window that lists all problems it has. This takes a lot of guesswork out of striking deals on auction vehicles. Registering for the auction is also free. Good food is available from a vendor on the grounds. The auction podium is indoors. Yoder accepts Internet bidding

The Yoder auction staffers do a good job verbally describing items, projecting pictures of each item on a screen, soliciting and calling out bids, dealing with Internet bidders and posting the prices on Yoder’s Website so you can check what prices were.

There are always a couple of hidden gems among the vehicle offerings like a 1940 Cadillac 60 Special and a ’68 Chevy-Coachcraft ambulance. Coachcraft can be traced all the way back to famed designer Howard “Dutch” Darrin. Here is a partial list of prices paid for memorabilia items and a full list of prices realized on the cars and trucks. There were some very low prices and good bargains at this Fall auction.
